One in three women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime, and the warning signs aren’t always bruises and broken bones. So how can you look for warning signs or help a survivor? The Dwelling Place has helped women and children escape and heal from domestic abuse for over 25 years. DV101 is a training that equips the community with tools to identify domestic violence and help victims.

what will I learn?

DV101 provides you with tools to use in your everyday life. You will learn:

The types and patterns of Domestic Violence.
The effects of Domestic Violence on survivors, children, and communities.
The causes of Domestic Violence and why it’s difficult for victims to leave.
How to spot Domestic Violence and get help.

who is this training for?

DV101 is for the community. We want to equip neighbors, family members, friends, coworkers, and church congregations to prevent domestic violence and help survivors escape. Bring all your questions and preconceived notions about domestic violence- this training is where we can talk about them! The Dwelling Place is on mission to end generational cycles of abuse, and we believe a community fighting against domestic violence together is part of the solution.

Schedule a training for your organization or group by clicking the button below, and one of our instructors will come to you! Just reserve a room large enough for your group with a presentation screen. If you are outside of the Twin Cities area, we may need to hold the training virtually. The training is one hour long and the cost is $150. If the cost is a barrier for your group, please ask about scholarship availability.
